Day 19, July 15: Forward in Hope

The assembly began this last day by remembering in our prayers all those who died or were wounded in the terrorist attack yesterday in Nice…. Fr. Tomaz ended with some powerful words: “Let’s keep dreaming, but let’s dream together. If one person dreams alone, the dream remains a dream. But if we dream together, the dream becomes a reality.”

Day 18, July 14: Almost Home (I Think)

Gabriel Naranjo of Colombia presented the final document on behalf of the Synthesis and Redaction Commission. He explained in detail how the committee drafted and prepared the document, and why they added or did not add particular suggestions or proposals that were given on the floor during the assembly.

Day 17, July 13: Coming Down the Stretch

Frédéric Pellefigue from the Commission on Synthesis and Redaction presented proposed general lines of action. The floor was then opened for comments. As expected, many delegates made observations and suggestions. After lunch, the delegates again met in continental groups to discuss concrete lines of action for each conference. They will return tomorrow for a plenary session.

Fr. Pieber’s surgery successful

Fr. Carl Pieber, CM, Director of the Miraculous Medal Shrine,  had successful surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday night and is resting comfortably.  He will be back at St. Vincent’s Seminary, Philadelphia, PA, on Wednesday, July 13th. He thanks all of you for your prayers.

Carl Pieber – Prayer request

Prayers are requested for Carl Pieber, CM, Director of the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, who is hospitalized with complications from a medical procedure.  He is being transferred today to a medical center in center city, Philadelphia, PA, where he will have to undergo surgery to correct the problem.
